Veetee Foods Expands into the United States

Veetee Foods, the renowned rice and ambient meal solution company, is making a significant step into the United States with the launch of its first US production facility in Selma, North Carolina

This major £29 million ($36 million) investment is set to create 200 new jobs in the region, supporting the company’s expansion into North America’s fast-growing convenience food market.

Founded in 1986 by Moni Varma, Veetee Foods has evolved from a small business in the United Kingdom into a global leader in rice and ready-to-eat meal production. With established operations in the UK and India, the addition of the Selma facility marks a pivotal milestone in the company’s journey.

The new US plant will be instrumental in producing Veetee’s core rice products, as well as introducing a range of new convenience meals under the HungryHeads brand, including NoodleHead, PastaHead, and MacNcheeseHead, all set to debut in the US market.

According to the Managing Director of Veetee Foods, the company is thrilled to bring its high-quality, convenient meal solutions to American consumers. Johnston County in North Carolina is the perfect location for their first production plant outside of the United Kingdom.

They went on to add further that this expansion is a testament to their growth and their commitment to providing consumers with delicious, convenient meals made from the finest ingredients. Also, they are excited to introduce their new products to families across America.

The Selma facility will be equipped with cutting-edge technology developed over the past two decades in Veetee’s UK factories, ensuring that the company’s signature products maintain the high standards that consumers expect.

Additionally, the new plant will not only bolster the production of Veetee’s core rice offerings but also serve as the production hub for its expanding range of ambient meals, aimed at revolutionising the convenience food sector in the US.

Chairman of Veetee Foods also commented on the significance of this expansion, stating that this is a significant milestone in their company’s journey. The US is an incredibly important market for them, and this investment enables them to meet the rising demand for their products.

What’s more, they are excited to see their innovative, delicious meals become a staple in households across the United States.

The North Carolina project has received strong support from both local and state officials, with Governor Roy Cooper expressing his enthusiasm for Veetee’s decision to invest in the state’s burgeoning food production industry

The project has been bolstered by a 12-year Job Development Investment Grant, which will contribute to the long-term success of the Selma plant and further stimulate the local economy.

To conclude, Veetee’s entry into the US market underscores the company’s ambition to grow its presence on the global stage while continuing to innovate in the convenience food sector.

With its state-of-the-art facility in North Carolina, Veetee is poised to meet the increasing demand for high-quality, ready-to-eat meals in the US and beyond. This expansion not only reflects Veetee’s ongoing success but also its dedication to delivering delicious, convenient meal solutions to families across the world.
