The Compleat Food Group Acquires Harvey & Brockless

In a major step forward in its growth strategy, The Compleat Food Group has acquired renowned specialty food producer Harvey & Brockless for an undisclosed sum.

This acquisition marks the latest in a series of high-profile deals made by The Compleat Food Group this year, following its acquisitions of SK Foods and Zorba Foods, both leading suppliers in private label chilled party foods, dips, and deli fillings.

Harvey & Brockless will continue to operate as a standalone brand, maintaining the leadership of its current management team – Simon Yorke, Nick Martin, and Jonnie Archer. The company, founded in 1970 in Hailsham, has evolved into one of the UK’s leading suppliers of fine foods to the hospitality and foodservice industries.

Its extensive range includes British farmhouse cheeses, Mediterranean deli products from Dell’ami, British cured meats, and a line of bespoke sauces and dips.

What’s more, the company holds contracts with prestigious clients, including Harrods, The Savoy, The Ritz, and The Dorchester, and extended its reach internationally in 2018 by securing listings with Emirates and Etihad airlines, along with several five-star hotels in the UAE.

Speaking on the acquisition, The Compleat Food Group’s Chief Executive shared the company’s excitement, expressing that they are delighted to welcome Harvey & Brockless into The Compleat Food Group family.

They have a long-standing heritage and an unmatched passion for sourcing and delivering the finest speciality food from across the UK and the world. What’s more, this perfectly complements their mission to create high-quality food that people love to eat.

Additionally, they emphasised the strong alignment between the two companies, particularly in their commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and innovation

The CEO added that the acquisition will expand Compleat’s capabilities, benefiting existing customers by enhancing the group’s product offering, while simultaneously opening new markets and providing greater opportunities to serve a wider audience with their acclaimed food products.

Harvey & Brockless, with its reputation for curating the largest collection of British farmhouse cheeses in the United Kingdom, has been a family-owned business for over five decades. Its leadership expressed confidence in the future, with the Managing Director commenting that from their early days supplying cheeses to Harrods, they have always been driven by a commitment to offer the very best food from their network of artisan producers.

In The Compleat Food Group, they have found a partner who shares their passion for excellence in food and will help them achieve their vision for future growth. They

further remarked that the leadership team is eager to collaborate with Compleat as they guide Harvey & Brockless into the next stage of its evolution.

The acquisition is expected to have a significant impact on The Compleat Food Group’s overall market position. With the addition of Harvey & Brockless, Compleat’s annual turnover is projected to exceed £1 billion.

This growth positions the group as a major player in the speciality and fine food market, reinforcing its leadership in both retail and foodservice sectors.

The Compleat Food Group’s expansion through acquisitions is part of a broader strategy aimed at diversifying its portfolio and reaching new customers. With the inclusion of Harvey & Brockless, Compleat not only adds a prestigious brand with an extensive heritage but also gains access to Harvey & Brockless’ established client base, both in the UK and internationally.

This strategic acquisition is expected to enhance Compleat’s ability to offer high-quality, diverse products, solidifying its reputation as a leader in the food industry.

In conclusion, the acquisition of Harvey & Brockless by The Compleat Food Group represents not just a merger of two food industry powerhouses but a convergence of shared values – craftsmanship, quality, and passion for great food.

As both companies move forward, their combined strengths are expected to drive growth, expand markets, and elevate the food experiences they bring to customers, from five-star hotels to everyday dining tables.
