T.C. Morris Secures UKSE Funding to Fuel Growth
Dudley-based pork pie maker T.C. Morris has taken a significant step forward in its journey, securing a five-figure funding deal from UKSE to support its expansion into larger premises. This move marks a new chapter for the fourth-generation family business, now led by Chief Executive Charlotte Tennant.
Originally operating out of its long-time home in Willenhall, T.C. Morris’s relocation to a larger facility in Dudley comes as a result of sustained growth and increasing demand for its much-loved meat-based snacks.
The decision to scale up has not only enabled the company to better meet customer needs but has also led to the recruitment of five new team members, with further plans to introduce apprenticeship opportunities in the near future.
Charlotte Tennant, alongside Managing Director Allan Jones, highlighted the hard work and strategy that has driven the company’s success: expanding its customer base, broadening its product range, and now, ambitiously exploring export opportunities.
They explained that relocating to Dudley was essential to meet growing demand, expressing particular pride in the fact that all existing employees, including some with over 40 years of service, chose to remain with the business during this transitional phase.
Rather than seeking funding from mainstream lenders, T.C. Morris was introduced to UKSE through Birmingham-based Central Business Finance. The support from UKSE provided the essential working capital required to facilitate the move without disrupting operations.
Tennant praised UKSE, noting that they have been a great support and genuinely want them to succeed.
UKSE, which specialises in providing loans and equity packages of up to £1 million, has a proven track record of empowering businesses to grow, create jobs, and contribute to the economy.
To date, the organisation has invested over £115 million, supported 8,000 businesses, and helped generate an estimated 83,000 new jobs.
A UKSE regional executive echoed their commitment to supporting T.C. Morris’s growth, describing the company as a great Black Country success story. At UKSE, they aim to help businesses grow, innovate, and create job opportunities, and they are delighted to support Charlotte and her team in their ambitious plans.
The move to Dudley, coupled with UKSE’s investment, positions T.C. Morris for a bright future as it continues to build on its heritage while embracing opportunities for growth and innovation.
With a committed team, exciting expansion plans, and a foundation of strong family values, T.C. Morris is set to remain a key player in the local economy for generations to come.
