Jones Village Bakery Acquired by Menissez Bakery Group

In a landmark move for the bakery industry, Wrexham-based Jones Village Bakery has been acquired by the Menissez Bakery Group for an undisclosed fee. 

This strategic acquisition marks a significant milestone, promising a multi-million pound expansion plan set to create 65 new jobs and introduce a state-of-the-art bread production line.

Founded in 1965, Menissez is a family-owned enterprise based in the north of France, with an impressive portfolio that includes Van Rooy and Le Marie Patisserie in Europe and Boulart in North America. 

The firm purchased its controlling stake in Jones Village Bakery from Limerston Capital, a private equity firm that invested in the company in 2021.

Despite the change in ownership, Jones Village Bakery will continue to be managed by its existing senior management team, led by managing director Robin Jones, his brother Christien, operations director Simon Thorpe, and commercial director Lesley Arnot. 

With several facilities on the Wrexham Industrial Estate and another in Minera, Jones Village Bakery currently employs 900 people.

Jones expressed their enthusiasm for the partnership with Menissez, highlighting the immediate investment this acquisition brings. Menissez is a brilliant company, and the family, headed by Laurent and Isabella Menissez, are true global pioneers of the bakery industry.

Since Limerston Capital’s investment in 2021, Jones Village Bakery has tripled in size.
