Gousto Expands Bringing Fresh, Nutritious Meal Kits to Irish Households

Gousto, the UK-based recipe kit business, has officially expanded into the Republic of Ireland, marking a significant milestone in its growth journey.

The company, which delivers portion-controlled meal kits containing fresh ingredients and easy-to-follow recipes, has launched a dedicated Irish website and is now accepting orders. This expansion follows Gousto’s successful entry into Northern Ireland in June 2024, making the Republic of Ireland a natural next step in its mission to transform home cooking.

With more than 150 recipe options available per month, Gousto promises to bring variety and convenience to Ireland’s 1.8 million households. The company has already committed to sourcing over a third of its ingredients from local producers, strengthening Ireland’s thriving food industry

Among these local suppliers is O’Hanlan Herbs, whose managing director expressed excitement about partnering with Gousto. “

They commented that they are delighted to be part of Ireland’s growing food scene as Gousto makes its debut here. It’s fantastic to be involved in a launch that blends creativity and convenience, making it easier than ever to prepare flavourful meals with the finest ingredients.

Beyond its culinary offering, Gousto’s expansion is set to create over 30 new jobs across management, marketing, food, supply chain, and fulfilment, with further opportunities expected as the business scales.

This investment reflects Gousto’s long-term commitment to Ireland, not just as a market but as an integral part of its supply network and operational growth.

Founded in 2012 by Timo Boldt and James Carter, Gousto has grown into a major player in the meal kit industry, with company-wide revenues now surpassing £300 million. CEO Timo Boldt highlighted that Gousto’s market research revealed a strong consumer interest in health-conscious eating, but a gap remained in the availability of convenient, nutritious dinner options.

Therefore, they aim to fill this gap with an inspiring range of fresh, home-cooked recipes that make healthy eating simple. Their service brings unrivalled choice, exceptional value, and the convenience of cooking from scratch, all backed by local fulfilment and sourcing.

To conclude, Gousto’s arrival in Ireland signals more than just business expansion; it’s a step towards reshaping how Irish households approach mealtimes. With a commitment to fresh ingredients, local partnerships, and accessible home-cooked dining, the company is set to revolutionise the convenience of healthy eating

As Gousto settles into its new market, its impact on both consumers and the local food economy is poised to grow – one recipe at a time.
