At MWS, we believe in giving back to the communities that support us. We’re proud to sponsor a range of individuals and teams, with a particular focus on grassroots initiatives and young talent. Whether it’s helping a local youth team reach their next big game or supporting individuals on their journey to success, our sponsorships are all about creating opportunities, encouraging development, and celebrating hard work at every level.
Lauren Mackie
MWS has sponsored Lauren Mackie since 2022, when she was a fearless 16 year old boxer making waves on the international scene. After several GB assessments, and along with her performance in the Youth World Championships in November 2022, Lauren became the youngest boxer on the GB boxing team.
Her ultimate goal is to compete in the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, California, United States, and we have no doubt she’ll make it. The future looks bright for this young boxer, and MWS is proud to play a part in her journey.
Thurmaston Magpies Girls U11 Storm
Thurmaston Magpies Junior U11 Storm is a dedicated girls’ football team based in Thurmaston, Leicestershire. They compete in the Leicestershire Foxes Sunday League, providing young female athletes with opportunities to develop their skills and passion for the game. The team plays its home matches at Elizabeth Park on Checkland Road in Thurmaston.
Loughborough RFC Under 13s
The Loughborough RFC was formed in 1929 to enable it’s members to play Rugby Union, and since then has continued to grow in popularity. Loughborough has a hugely successful youth set-up, including Mini-Midi rugby for those children (boys and girls) aged 7 to 12, Junior rugby for boys aged between 13 and 17, and Colts rugby is for those aged 18 and 19. Recently the women’s ladies have added a Junior Girls section (age groups under 14 to 17).
Leicester St Andrews FC
We are proud to sponsor Leicester St Andrews Football Club which is the team of one of our own engineers – Jerome Agu.
Affectionately known as “The Saints” or “The Drews,” St Andrews is a football club based in Aylestone, Leicester. Established in 1973, the club has a rich history, including three Leicestershire Senior League Premier Division championships and a memorable run to the FA Vase semi-finals during the 2013–14 season. The club offers teams ranging from under-6s to senior level, fostering talent and promoting community engagement in the sport.
Syston RFC U12s
Syston Rugby Football Club, established in 1887, is a prominent rugby union club located in Queniborough, Leicester. The club boasts a rich history and a strong commitment to fostering rugby talent across all age groups. Their Under-12 team has recently achieved notable success, securing the U12’s Bowl and demonstrating impressive skills and teamwork. At MWS, we are proud to sponsor the U12s, supporting their development and celebrating their achievements as they continue to excel on the field.
